Where America leads does the UK follow?

I read a fabulous article this morning by a Dr Deah all about how Americans have a ‘wait’ problem – and no that isn’t a spelling error.  she did mean ‘wait’

and as these things often do, it really got me thinking – about how we (in the UK) often suffer the same disability. Read the rest of this entry »

Happy Valentine’s Day

Love it or hate it; it’s here again. Valentine’s Day.  the day we have to show our nearest and dearest how much we care (or not!)

We have become so sickly sweet about ‘loving’

Cards and presents and masses of ‘things’;  yet another day for the card shops, florists and others to make money from us.

OOO I hear you say – bit bah humbug that –

Perhaps she’s a miserable old witch and nobody loves her.

Well for your information, I’m neither miserable, old or a witch (well maybe the latter to those that know me – but only a white one – most of the time!) and quite a lot of people love me so there!

but I digress

Don’t get me wrong I don’t think there’s anything wrong with love.  In fact it’s what makes the world go round.

I find it sad, yes sad, that people can only show they ‘care’ one day of the year – well no it’s also Christmas and birthdays isn’t it?

We’ve become so materialistic .  It’s all about ‘stuff’

You see I believe that it’s more important to love yourself than to have someone else love you

In fact sometimes we spend so much time looking for someone else to care about us, we forget who we are.

We don’t pay attention to our own needs.

What we end up doing is concentrating on the ‘outside’ and forgetting about the inside.

Have you ever watched a woman putting her make-up on during a train journey.  It’s fascinating.

That’s definitely about self love but I think it can be in a narcisstic way.

The total absorption can seem to be all about ‘how I look’ rather than who I am

Or maybe I’m just a cynic

What I do know though is that with all the stuff in the media about how good or, thin, and all the rest you have to be, the pressure on people nowadays is huge.

And it seems to me that there are an awful lot of people out there who might ‘look’ the part but have you ever looked in their eyes.

It’s all about how they look.

It’s not about who they are and it’s obvious.

Their eyes are cold, dead sometimes, sad others.

But the look – wow

There’s no shining eyes

Thing is when you love yourself everything in your life works

Because you won’t put up with second best

You won’t eat stuff you know isn’t good for you

You treat yourself well

Not just on the outside but the inside too.

That’s when it starts to shine out of you

That’s when it starts to work.

Life goes by all too quickly and we only regret the things in life we don’t do.

People who refuse to invest in themselves want everything for free and they always want to bargain with their success.   I’ll invest when I get better, when I get healthier, when I lose the weight… well guess what? life is going by and there’s no going back.  .

If you’re saying one thing and doing another (or not doing anything) no wonder nothing is happening.

Procrastination really is a killer.   It will kill your hopes, your dreams, your goals – fear and doubt aid procrastination and between the 3 of them you end up with nothing.

It’s a bleak picture and it doesn’t have to be like that

Start loving yourself this Valentines Day and change all that.

I have a programme which can help you

One where you can learn to love yourself, gain confidence, improve your self-esteem, lose weight if that’s what you want to do.

It’s like the ad says “because you’re worth it”

If not now, when?

Don’t wait for ‘tomorrow’ because as we know tomorrow never comes!

My programme is fun and tailor made for you.

Why should you just have love one day of the year?  Shouldn’t there always be love in your life?

Once you love yourself, you will also have so much to give to others.

It’s quite a wonderful thing.

For more information about the programme go to www.w8losswithoutdieting.com.

(and don’t worry although the programme is called W8 Loss Without Dieting it’s all about helping you be who you are, losing weight if you want to, getting out of the obsession about food you might have, teaching you how to just be and learning to love exactly who you are)
